Welcome to the Russian
Agricultural exhibition
“GOLDEN AUTUMN 2003”!

Dear Sirs,

We are glad to invite you to the Russian agro-industrial exhibition “Golden Autumn 2003”, which for the fifth time will take place from October, 10 till October, 14 2003 in the All-Russian Exhibition center in Moscow. This exhibition is the central annual event on the program of the Russian agro-industrial week and is held in accordance with the Direction of the Government of the Russian Federation №536-p from April, 11 2000.

The organizers of the exhibition are: the Ministry of Agriculture of the Russian Federation, Moscow Government, Russian academy of agricultural sciences, public corporation “GAO VVC”, close corporation JSC “P&I “Maxima”.

“Golden Autumn” is not only a traditional fall parade of the achievements of Russian agricultural complex and demonstrations of technological innovations, but also the biggest interregional and international trade pavilion, the main business forum of the industry, a gathering point for those, who are not indifferent to the fate of Russian agro-industrial complex, as well as the problem of food safety of the country and the planet as a whole. The unique feature of the exhibition is that it is attended by the officials of the Russian Ministry of agriculture , heads of regional administration, delegates of the State Duma, representatives of big and medium-size agro-business at the same time, and it is possible to directly discuss and often solve many business problems with them.

In 2002 the exhibition was opened by the Prime Minister of the Russian Federation M.M.Kasyanov, Deputy Chairman of the Government of the Russian Federation – Minister of agriculture of the Russian Federation A.V.Gordeev and Vice-Mayor of Moscow V.P.Shantsev. Minister of agriculture A.V.Gordeev described the special mission of the exhibition for Russian Agro-industrial Complex in the following way: “We would like everybody to know how rapidly our agriculture is developing today, which remarkable workers it is rich on. It is in the Russian countryside that our traditions and ethnic origins lie. Russia is a great country with agricultural history.

The main task of the organizers is to let all interested sides find each other at the exhibition. So that the ones who raise cattle met those who produce fodder, equipment, veterinary medicine. So that those, who sell food supplies, met those, who produce them. So that those who are ready to invest in the agriculture met those who have realistic investment projects.”

Judging my the scale and importance of the problems raised at the exhibition “Golden Autumn” is the largest exhibition in Russia, at which the whole system of agricultural industry and goods circulation is presented – from the field to the counter. Last year the number of exhibits of the Russian exhibitors was 1 875, 1000 enterprises and organizations out of that number were represented in 48 collective expositions of Russian regions.

The leading enterprises and firms of various property forms from 67 regions of Russia and 22 foreign countries took part in “Golden Autumn 2002”: from Austria, Byelorussia, Hungary, Vietnam, Germany, Denmark, Israel, India, Spain, Italy, Latvia, Netherlands, Poland, Slovakia, Slovenia, the USA, Ukraine, Finland, France, Czech Republic, Switzerland, Yugoslavia.

The positive trends of development of the present-day Russian Agricultural Complex during the last years, the increase in many important indices, including investment expenditures into the sphere of agro food supply, resulted in the marked expansion of exhibition areas. In 2002 the total exhibition area came up to 44 270 sq. m., that is 30% higher than in 2001. The increase in foreign section of the exhibition area in comparison with 2001 came up to 100%, the increase in the number of foreign participants- 200%.

More than 120 000 businessmen were registered at the last exhibition. The info-consultative center under the patronage of Russian Ministry of Agriculture and Moscow Government served the main commercial department. Its chief task was to choose on the competitive basis a certain number of providers from different regions, whose major responsibility would be purchasing provisions, agricultural raw materials, machines and equipment for Moscow processing enterprises and trade organizations. The center informs that more than 400 contracts were singed directly at the exhibition, the total sum of which exceeded 300 million roubles.

The center will continue its work at the coming exhibition, that is going to be even greater and presented in a different way- the following specialized exhibitions will be opened at the 5th Russian Agro Industrial exhibition “Golden Autumn’2003”:

All the other sections would be introduced in the general exposition. Such principle would allow to introduce the essence of the corresponding fields in a more complete and system-like way, as well as to reflect their latest achievements and to present the Russian Agricultural Complex as an integrated whole.

In the context of business program the following activities will be held:

Scientific session: “Technological progress in Agricultural Complex in Russia - the strategy of technological equipment of agricultural production in the period up to 2010.”

As well as:
Days of regions, conferences in different fields, practical seminars, auctions, contests, tasting, festivals of national cuisine, performances of folk groups, concerts and a holiday show.

The exhibition is being prepared with an active info-promotional support by the leading business and All-Russian publications, such are magazines “Expert”, “Profile”, “Kommersant Dengi”, newspapers “Vedomosti”, “Izvestiya”, “Selskaya Zhisn”, “A&F”, by trade press (more than 40 specialized publications); it is also advertised on the central channels and in the regional TV and radio programs. Journalists and Mass Media representatives show great interest in this exhibition, which was reflected in a number of published materials about “Golden Autumn’2002 ” and in the activities held during the exhibition.

Annually invitation cards are sent according to the specially prepared database, which includes several tens of thousands of addresses of profile enterprises and organizations. It is followed by an arrangement of outside exhibition advertising in Moscow (including the territory of All-Russian Exhibition Center) and other cities of Russia.
“Golden Autumn’2003” in the context of the program “Moscow and Regions” would be traditionally accompanied by the greatest agricultural and goods fair, that will take place not only on the territory of All-Russian Exhibition Center, but also in all the administrative districts of the capital. The results of the similar fair last year surpassed all possible expectations. Many agricultural producers from regions for the first time were selling their high-quality and inexpensive goods in the streets and squares of Moscow. The exhibition stepped into the city.

“Golden Autumn’2003” has become a true national holiday - a harvest festival, which brings satisfaction and charges hard workers of the Agricultural Complex with energy for the whole coming agricultural year. We will be glad to welcome you at our remarkable exhibition.
