The first specialized exhibition “Progressive technologies of animal-breeding” will take place on October, 10-14 2003 in Moscow in pavilions № 32, 33 of the All-Russian exhibition center as part of the Russian Agro-industrial exhibition “Golden Autumn 2003”.

Animal breeding today is the most important link in the unified technological chain of food production. In the recent years there has been sustained a tendency for increasing production of all kinds of meat. Raise of the income of the population has facilitated the demand for meat and meat products and increase of its production in the meat-processing enterprises.
The exhibition “progressive technologies of animal breeding”, having grown out of the specialized section of the Russian agro-industrial exhibition “Golden Autumn”, is unique in scale, format of presentation and opportunities of satisfying the most refined demands, connected to the purchase of agricultural animals and necessary equipment for this industry.
The most important merit of the exhibition is nature demonstration of the animals, live demonstration of the newest milking and other stock-raising equipment in use.
According to the opinion poll, the exponents of 2002 received a great commercial effect from their participation in the exhibition. A considerable part of the presented breed milk and meat cattle, sheep, pigs, animals and poultry were sold to agricultural enterprises. There were a lot of contracts signed for the purchase of various machinery and equipment for animal-breeding.
A lot of participants presented their advanced technologies together with a wide range of assorted produce. Among them is “Ptichnoe” (Moscow region). All technological processes in the enterprise are automatic. For keeping the selection tracks computers are used. Each stage of the production (from feeding poultry to conditions of keeping it) is controlled by specialists from the zoo-technical laboratory and veterinary department.
Another example of a technologically integrated enterprise is PC “Krasnaya poliana+” (Kursky region). For now it’s a complex of a closed cycle and departments of incubation, industrial broiler growing, feeding department, slaughter department, section of semi-cooked produce and sausage produce, etc. Reconstruction and modernization of the equipment in the sections of broiler processing allowed to widen the assortment up to 80 items of the produce of improved quality.
Modern organization of production is true for the breed-plant – agro-company “Krasnodonskoe”. It is comprised of 22 enterprises, which provide for storage of raw grain, work out of mixed fodder, production of up to 12 tons of pork a year, up to 6,5 tons of poultry meat, up to 35 thousand sale eggs a day, processing of meat and selling of 160 items of produce.
Among animal-breeding specialties the biggest growth is observed in pig-breeding and poultry-breeding today. The number of pigs and poultry is continuously increasing. According to the estimates of the experts it’s poultry-breeding that is able to reach the highest rate in the next two-three years and to satisfy the demand of the country in poultry meat. Import deliveries in this branch have considerably decreased, which was very much affected by the introduction of the new veterinary certificate for import of poultry meat from the USA. As far as cattle is concerned, here the growth of production was reached through decrease of livestock. This, unfortunately, remains the main problem of the industry. In connection to it demonstration of foreign elite pedigree cattle with the consecutive selling at the end of the exhibition will be an important and promising course in the work of the coming exhibition.
