The first specialized exhibition “Food Complex of Russia” will take place on October, 10-14 2003 in Moscow in pavilion №57 of the All-Russian exhibition center as part of the Russian agro-industrial exhibition “Golden Autumn 2003”.

Among the numerous food exhibitions held in the country “Food Complex of Russia” holds the first place. It’s for the first time that the food industry will be represented not separately, but as an important link in the unified chain of the whole agro-industrial production and the system of sales of ready-made produce.

At the exhibition there will be presented fundamental elaborations and newest technologies for the food and processing industries, equipment for primary processing of the agricultural raw materials, equipment for producing food, the whole spectrum of food produce, package and containers, storage, wholesale markets, agro-holdings – as new economic forms of business, investing companies.

The main item of the exhibition will be demonstration of the Russian food products as the final result of the regional agro-industrial integration. Here in the first place will stand food self-supply of the region, specific features of the region as well as implementation of the highly effective technologies and methods of production in the food industry. All of these will be reflected in the regional expositions.

The exhibition “Food Complex of Russia” grew out of the former specialized section of the exhibition “Golden Autumn”. The newspaper “Village Life” wrote about the exposition of the Russian food products in 2002 in the following way: “The most effective section of “Golden Autumn” was the demonstration of the achievements of Russian food and processing industries. Practically all branches of this industry were represented in pavilion 57. The capital saw one more time that Russian countryside can give a full range of food products to the country. Our meat, dairy, pastry, bakery, fish and other products are not worse and often much better in quality than imported analogues.

Experience exchange at the exhibition was going on at different practical scientific conferences, seminars and round-table discussions. Particular importance was given to the conference “Moscow and the regions: integration in the sphere of AIC”, which was organized by the Ministry of agriculture of Russia and Moscow city administration. We can hardly overestimate the significance of Moscow market for Russian countryside of the future, because here almost a half of the wholesale market of Russia is formed”.

Indeed, Moscow enterprises have had a considerable positive and exemplary experience of integration with the agricultural producers from the regions. That is why “Food market of Moscow” will become one of the main sections of the exhibition “Food complex of Russia”. The food provision of the capital is directly connected with the supplies from the regions of Russia, the contribution of which also determines the share of imported produce. Created agro-holdings with participation of enterprises of Moscow food complex brought to the capital 27% of meat, 50 % of vegetables and 31% of potatoes of the general volume of contributions from the regions of Russia.

In the section all sorts of food produce will be represented – bakery and pasta products, pastry products, dairy products, soups, delicatessen, seafood, organic foods, vegetables, fruit, sausages and meat, deep-frozen products and preserves, spices, tea, beer, wine and champagne, liquor and soft drinks, etc.

In this section integration chains will be presented, which include production of agricultural raw materials, their delivery to Moscow, processing and selling the ready produce.

As part of Moscow exposition for the visitors of the exhibition there will be a big tasting and sale session of the presented produce organized. With this aim in view we suggest placing the exposition in blocks, uniting corresponding industries, and organizing food points in each of the blocks.

Presented as a separate block, there will be functioning wholesale food markets and distribution centers of the city, which form the optimal system of goods circulation in the major and minor wholesale.

Business program:

During the exhibition a conference on the main points of interregional cooperation will take place, where business discussions of the problems and prospects of integration of Moscow agro-industrial enterprises and agro-industrial enterprises of the regions will be continued. The discussion started last year.

Problems of interregional cooperation will be reflected on the stand of the Moscow Government, where information and consultancy work for regional representatives, specialists and visitors of the exhibition will be performed.
As part of the exhibition Business Center will be working, where everybody will be able to get concrete information from the Ministry of agriculture, Moscow Government and organizers of the exhibition on the presented produce, and perform commercial negotiations and sing treaties on wholesale deliveries.

There are supposed to be trips to the leading processing enterprises of Moscow organized for the specialists with the aim of making them acquainted with the new technologies of production and selling of produce.

Processing enterprises of Moscow region will also be participating in the upcoming exhibition more actively, visits to them will be on the business program as well.

Contests:

• «The best food product - 2003» (12 nominations)
  Last year 450 enterprises took part in this traditional contest and presented 1700 samples of products. As a result 700 medals and diplomas were awarded.
• «Progressive equipment for food and processing industries»
• «The best specialty dish of the region»
• Contest for the title of «Supplier of Moscow Government»
• Contests for the title of ”People’s product” (as a result of votes from the visitors of Moscow exposition)

As part of the exhibition:

• Services of the information and consultancy center of the Ministry of agriculture of Russia;
• Auction of the Moscow Interregional Food Exchange;
• Days of the regions;
• Numerous conferences, seminars, round-table discussions, visits to the leading enterprises of Moscow and Moscow region, tastings, Days of national cuisine, concerts of folk groups, festive shows, and, of course, agricultural fair, which will take place not only in the AEC, but in all administrative circuits of the capital as well.
